JACK LAMPERT YOUNG ACTORS' ENDOWMENT FUND

About the Scholarship

Theatre Baton Rouge, a 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Organization, established the Jack Lampert Young Actors’ Endowment Fund (The Fund) to provide a new fundraising initiative of Theatre Baton Rouge designed to raise funds to provide scholarship opportunities to children and young adults (ages 6 to 18) in the Greater Baton Rouge area.

The Fund is named after Jack Lampert, who founded the Young Actors Program (YAP) in 2010. Jack spent over a decade growing the YA, the classes, as well as through the YAP musicals and plays

The children and young adults gain confidence, learn the value of teamwork, and often make lifelong friendships. Jack is admired and respected by children, parents, staff, and volunteers. It is his wish, as well as that of the TBR board of directors and volunteers, to provide this fund as a means of outreach to the youth who may not otherwise have the financial means to participate in YAP programs.

Testimonials from past students:

“Being cast in my first musical at Theatre Baton Rouge, which was YAP’s Footloose, made me realize how much I loved being on stage and in musicals. Mr. Jack and the staff who worked with us for the shows and classes are

amazing!  They are very talented and really care about engaging us in the learning process whether it’s for acting, singing, costuming, or behind stage.”

-Sydney Mistretta, former YAP participant

"The TBR YAP cultivated my and many others’ love and appreciation for stage acting and theatre itself.  Jack Lampert is a long-time friend and mentor to me.  Thanks to his focus on theatre education, young artists have been able to grow among fellow artists in theatre."

-Daniel Crump, former YAP participant

Topic: Why should you be granted a scholarship from the Jack Lampert Young Actors Program Endowment Fund?

A Letter from Jack Lampert

"First, let me say how honored I am that TBR has bestowed this scholarship in my name. The purpose of the Young Actors Program was to nurture and teach theatre to the youth of Greater Baton Rouge.

The program was developed  to give young actors  the opportunity continue to learn their craft and work as a team, helping them to develop lifetime skills. Whether interested in being on stage or working backstage, the program allows children to come to a place where they can be themselves and make friends with others who share their same interests.

The skills they learn are not only for theatre but for their lives no matter where the future takes them.  Your contribution to this ongoing scholarship  will allow students to participate in the Young Actors Program for years to come.

On behalf of myself and TBR,  I say a heartfelt Thank You!!"

-Jack Lampert, Founder of TBR's Young Actors Program
