On the last day of class, students will perform a mini musical entitled Pajama Party! Get ready to be the star on stage that you've always wanted to be!
This is a Story Drama class. The students will learn what it takes to activate language. The students will work together to develop new narratives based on their favorite stories. The format of the final performance could take many different forms: a series of monologues, a new play, or a series of scenes.
In this fun class, students will review singing technique focusing on breath, placement, and body alignment as well discover your own voice capabilities (range, dynamics. Age appropriate repertoire from The Musical Theatre Songbook will be selected by the instructor. Audition preparation including song choices and audition cuts will be covered and prepared. Students will have a brief performance during the final class on April 27.
This Teen/Adult Tap class has something for tappers of all levels. Whether you are learning the steps for the first time or dusting off your tap shoes, everyone will learn and have fun in this Broadway style tap class. Class will consist of a warm-up, center floor work and beginner traveling tap exercises. Each class, students will learn a combination incorporating the steps that were introduced that week. Students will be taught vocabulary, rhythm construction, and syncopation. Students should wear comfortable clothes. Tap shoes are required.
The Singing Actor Is 6 part class on how to prepare and perform on any stage. The class not only covers the basics,of singing (breath, placement, body alignment,but also focuses on song selection from Broadway show tunes, from ballads to show stopper and audition preparation. From audition to final curtain call, this class is designed for the singing actor at any skill level, from beginner to advanced. Students will have a brief performance in their final class.
This class will focus on contemporary scene work, both acting and analysis, using the ideas and basics of the Stanislavski System. students will get to work with jenny on two contemporary scenes, focusing on given circumstances, objectives, obstacles, subtext, and being present and open in the moment. This class is appropriate for both beginning actors and more experienced actors who are wanting to hone their craft.
This fun class is structured for seniors who want to act. We will work on scenes and monologues that are age appropriate. The scenes will be from both classic and contemporary theatre. Participants will be able to focus on how to interpret scripts and character development. The purpose is to have fun while learning the craft of acting.
This beginners improvisation class will meet and play each Wednesday during the month of April.We will be learning many of the in’s and out’s of playing improvisation games and creating informative scenes on the spot. this is a great opportunity to expand your knowledge in theatre arts, and have fun learning and playing theatre games with others.
