Acting Skills For Those 55 And Over
Tuesdays, September 18-October 23, 2018        Ages 55+
10:00 AM – 12:00 PM          $100

 

This course includes warmup exercises, acting techniques, theatrical games, and more. Through scenes we will discuss characterization, developing characters, and how to be successful both onstage as well as backstage. Application of material studied will be demonstrated by performing short duet and/or group scenes the last class day.

The Teens Write The Story
Tuesdays, September 18-October 23, 2018        Ages 13-17
6:00 PM – 8:30 PM           $150

 

Does your teen enjoy the supernatural, unexplainable, or maybe scary aspects of life? Maybe they enjoy writing and collaborating with their friends to create stories or scripts. Well add some Louisiana hot sauce to the mix, and you get this class! Students will transcribe 4-5 Louisiana folktales, such as “The Red-headed Witch of Bogalusa Creek” or “The Hammering Ghost of Minden,” to scripts and present them to family and friends during their final class. We’re going to have a “monstrous” time. Class Limit: 15 students.

Learning Theatre Through Fun
Saturdays, October 6-November 10, 2018            Ages 5-8
9:00 AM – 10:30 AM            $150

 

In this class, students will learn the basics of theatre through theatrical exercises, scene work, singing, and dancing. Get your children excited to explore the many different aspects of the theatre as they develop their singing, acting, and dancing skills. Class Limit: 15 students.

Creating Scenes
Saturdays, October 6-November 10, 2018         Ages 9-12
9:00 AM – 10:30 AM           $150

 

In this class, children will learn the basic building blocks of theatre performance. Through various theatre games and activities, we will work on improvisation skills, character development, and the art of storytelling. We will discover diverse ways to instill self-confidence and will explore several ways to help coax your child out of their shell. Your child will learn all about the wonderful world of theatre in the most fun and entertaining way possible!  Class Limit: 15 students.

Voice Class for Kids
Saturdays, October 6-November 17, 2018                         Ages 7-15
10:30 AM – 12:00 PM                           $150

In this class, students will review singing technique focusing on breathing and vocal placement. Musical theater basics will be incorporated into class. Age appropriate repertoire from the Musical Theater Songbook will be selected by the instructor. Other topics included: audition preparation including song choices and audition cuts. Students will have a brief performance during the final class.

Teen/Adult Tap Class
Saturdays, October 6-November 10, 2018         Ages 15+
1:00 PM - 2:30 PM           $150

 

This class has something for tappers of all levels. Whether you are learning the steps for the first time or dusting off your tap shoes, everyone will learn and have fun in this Broadway style tap class. Class will consist of a warm-up, center floor work and beginner traveling tap exercises. Each class, students will learn a combination incorporating the steps that were introduced that week. Students will be taught vocabulary, rhythm construction, and syncopation. Students should wear comfortable clothes. Tap shoes are required. Class Limit: 15 students.

Adult Voice
Mondays, October 8-November 19, 2018                                   Ages 16+
6:30 PM - 8:00 PM           $150

In this course students will cover basic technique of vocal production: breathing and placement of tone. Repertoire will be selected from Broadway musicals and the basics of musical theater will be incorporated into class. Our goal is to help you develop a healthy, versatile singing voice adaptable to the many styles required in musical theatre today. Students will have a brief performance during the final class. Class Limit: 15 Students

 

INSTRUCTOR: Beth Nash Bordelon

 

Scenes For Two Or More
Tuesdays and Thursdays, October 9- October 23, 2018       Ages 18+
6:00 PM - 7:30 PM           $150

 

This class will focus on developing characters and motivation in scenes with two or three characters. Each student will work on several scenes. Some will be from classics, some from comedies and some from dramas. This class will meet twice a week for three weeks. Class Limit: 15 Students
