Get your little ones excited about exploring the wonderful world of theatre through theatrical exercises, songs, dances, and scenes. In this two-week course students, will learn the basics of theatre while putting together a show that will be performed for friends and family on the last day of camp. If you’re looking to get bitten by the theatre bug, this is the camp for you!
During this two-week program participants, will audition for, rehearse, and perform a full-scale musical theatre production. Campers will have the opportunity to work with a professional creative team and other creative students who will participate in all phases of the production process. The performance will be at the conclusion of the second week. For auditions, you should prepare 16 bars (30-60 seconds) of a Broadway-style up-tempo song. Bring sheet music* so that our piano accompanist can play along with you. Dance auditions will be at the conclusion of the vocal auditions on the first day of camp.
After the success of last year’s camp, we’re expanding! During this week, long experience, students will spend their evenings rehearsing a one act drama. Enjoy a fell theatrical experience with a short tech on Saturday afternoon before the class culminates in a performance on Saturday evening for friends and family.
From auditions to the final curtain, this camp is dedicated to ensuring campers experience and understand the process of a theatrical production. Participants will not only learn about audition and performance techniques, but they'll be engaged daily with group activities about the various design areas of theatre. In this camp, the ball never stops rolling because once participants know their roles for cast and crew, it's full on rehearsal and prep for our opening show. So, if you're looking for experience and fun like no other, this is the camp for you!
